Hello,
my older son who is 12 was diagnosed with SWS at the age of 4, after he fell on his head and had a seizure. he does not have a stain on his face only the vascular anomality shown on MRI and this one time seizure. since then he is on antiepileptic medication. all these years he was fine. untill 2 month ago when suddenly he got migraine headaches. in these last 2 month he had already had 6 episodes that lasts between 2-3 days. his head aches. when he eats his tummy aches. light does not disturb him, he even watches TV. we are not sure how to treat him. medications we tried did not help - migraleve, rizalt, sumatriptan. our doctor is thinking to put him on topamax.
I will be very grateful if a parent or a doctor that had an expirience with a similar situation will let me know what worked and how the migraines were solved.
we are very frustrated and worried.
I will appreciate your help and advice.
